Three new additions to the Accor<\/strong> hotel group in 2024. From January 1, Gilda Perez Alvarado<\/strong> will be General Manager of Orient Express<\/strong>, and Maxime d’Angeac<\/strong> its Artistic Director<\/strong>. Omer Acar<\/strong> will take over as General Manager of Fairmont.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Gilda Perez Alvarado will continue in her role as Chief Strategy Officer<\/strong> of the Accor Group, and will take up the position of Managing Director of Orient Express. The prestigious Orient-Express brand is co-owned by the Accor Group and SNCF<\/strong>. It is in the midst of a renaissance, with the planned relaunch in 2024<\/strong> of not only the legendary train<\/strong> that will run from Rome to Split via Paris and Istanbul, but also the launch of a collection of Hotels<\/strong>. While a dozen establishments are planned by 2030, the first will open in the ultra-touristy cities of Rome and Istanbul.<\/p>\n 2026 will also see the launch of the world’s largest sailing ship<\/strong>, the Orient Express Silenseas<\/strong>, the result of Accor’s partnership with Chantiers de l’Atlantique, the leading cruise ship builder.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n After starting her career with PwC<\/strong>, Gilda Perez-Alvarado joined JLL in 2004<\/strong>. Working in the “Hotel & Hospitality<\/strong>” division of real estate specialist JLL, she has accumulated “twenty years’ experience in strategic and financial consulting with the sector’s leading owners and investors”.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n She joined the Accor Group last October, as Director of Strategy and member of the Management Committee<\/strong>.
