Sales were $6.66 billion <strong>(\u20ac6.17 billion)<\/strong>, compared with $6.68 billion (\u20ac6.19 billion) in 2021\/2022.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Three lacklustre brands<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>None of the Group&#8217;s brands was particularly dynamic: revenues for <strong>Coach<\/strong>, its historic driving force, grew by just 1% to around $5 billion <strong>(\u20ac4.6 billion)<\/strong>, while <strong>Kate Spade and Stuart Weitzman fell by 2% and 11%<\/strong> respectively to $1.4 billion <strong>(\u20ac1.3 billion)<\/strong> and $282 million <strong>(\u20ac261 billion)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The Group&#8217;s <strong>annual net income<\/strong> did <strong>round off by 9%<\/strong> to $936 million <strong>(\u20ac867 billion)<\/strong>, with <strong>diluted earnings per share of $3.88<\/strong> instead of $3.17 in 2021-22.<\/p>\n<p>However, the end of the year does not point to any real awakening for the Group.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Sluggish fourth quarter<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Tapestry group&#8217;s<strong> sales<\/strong> stagnated again in <strong>the fourth quarter<\/strong>, at $1.6 billion <strong>(\u20ac1.5 billion)<\/strong>. And while <strong>Coach<\/strong> regained some energy, with a <strong>5% rise in sales<\/strong> to $1.25 billion (\u20ac1.16 billion), the other brands continued their slide (-9% to $309 million (\u20ac286 billion), <strong>for Kate Spade<\/strong> and <strong>-11%<\/strong> to $63 million (\u20ac5.8 billion), <strong>for Stuart Weitzman<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Admittedly, <strong>the group is targeting an increase in sales of around 3% to 4%<\/strong> to almost $6.9 billion <strong>(6.4 billion euros)<\/strong>, on a reported basis and at constant exchange rates for the 2023\/2024 financial year.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>How successful could a Tapestry-Capri merger be?<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>But <strong>some observers still question Tapestry&#8217;s ability to successfully merge with Capri<\/strong>. The latter itself posted <strong>stable sales<\/strong> of $5.6 billion in the 2022\/2023 fiscal year ended April 1.
