Previously managed by LVMH&#8217;s Kendo beauty incubator, the division had been discontinued in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s no coincidence that the world&#8217;s leading luxury goods group has put its trust in Coty <strong>to relaunch Marc Jacobs Beauty<\/strong>. The beauty giant has already struck gold with Marc Jacobs fragrances, from which it has been licensed for two decades.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Licensee of Marc Jacobs fragrances for 20 years<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The expansion and extension of our long-standing agreement with Marc Jacobs, now in its 20th year, is testament to the enduring success of our partnership and the unlimited potential of the brand,&#8221; said <strong>Coty CEO Sue Nabi<\/strong>. Thanks to its partnership with Coty, <strong>Marc Jacobs fragrances<\/strong> have enjoyed great success, ranking among the top ten women&#8217;s fragrances in the world, thanks to the iconic <strong>Daisy Marc Jacobs and Perfect Marc Jacobs<\/strong>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Born in 2013 in partnership with <strong>beauty brand incubator Kendo Brands, a subsidiary of LVMH<\/strong>, Marc Jacobs Beauty has quickly established itself in its universe, and particularly with celebrities, with products that have become iconic (felt eyeliners, lip lacquers, etc)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Marc Jacobs Beauty relaunched<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>But two years ago, Marc Jacobs Beauty put the company on pause, announcing that it was &#8220;reviewing its strategy to best meet the demands of its customers worldwide&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Today, it is back on track with Coty, and for a long time to come. <strong>The licensing agreement has been signed for a period of&#8230;15 years!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With Coty, Marc Jacobs is relying on a sure bet, as evidenced by the American beauty <strong>group&#8217;s annual results for fiscal year<\/strong> <strong>2022\/23<\/strong>, which closed on June 30. These contrast with the disappointing results recently published by its compatriot Est\u00e9e Lauder.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Soaring sales<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Coty&#8217;s sales<\/strong> <strong>soared by 12%<\/strong> on a like-for-like basis to $5.55 billion <strong>(\u20ac5 billion)<\/strong>. This performance exceeded the Group&#8217;s last forecast, which called for growth of between 9% and 10%.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Coty&#8217;s Ebitda increased by 7%<\/strong> to 972.8 million dollars <strong>(899 million euros)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This performance enabled the company to report <strong>adjusted earnings per share of $0.01<\/strong>, compared with a loss of $0.01 last year. However, <strong>the New York Stock Exchange was expecting double<\/strong> that, at $0.02!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Prestige division in top form<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In terms of business, Coty was buoyed by its <strong>Prestige division<\/strong> (Burberry, Lancaster, Gucci, Hugo Boss, Orveda, SKKN brands&#8230;), which accounts for<strong> 59% of total sales<\/strong>, and <strong>grew by 13%<\/strong> to $3.4 billion <strong>(\u20ac3.1 billion)<\/strong>, thanks in particular to the success of its perfume brands.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Marc Jacobs, the Group renewed several fragrance licenses last year, including <strong>Davidoff, Hugo Boss and Jil Sander<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Consumer Products division (Bourjois, Max Factor, Rimmel brands, etc.)<\/strong> <strong>grew by 11%<\/strong> to $2.1 billion <strong>(\u20ac1.9 billion)<\/strong>. This was due in particular to launches such as the Active Skin &amp; Mind range from Adidas, with whom Coty also renewed its license.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Growth worldwide<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Another cause for rejoicing: Coty did very well all over the world. On a comparable basis, <strong>sales rose<\/strong> <strong>by 10%<\/strong> <strong>in both the EMEA<\/strong> (Europe, Middle East, Africa) zone (to 2.5 billion euros) and <strong>the Americas<\/strong> (to 2.3 billion dollars or 2.1 billion euros).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>In Asia-Pacific<\/strong>, today&#8217;s most modest zone, sales even <strong>rose by 13%<\/strong> to $705.9 million (652 million euros).
