The Group reports &#8220;very good export momentum&#8221; for its Jacques Bogart, Piaubert and Stendhal brands (particularly the make-up segment).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By contrast, sales of the Bogart Beauty Retail division, by far the largest, grew much more moderately (+4%) to 111 million euros. The Group nevertheless reports &#8220;dynamic business, particularly in Germany and Dubai&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Second quarter: distribution underperforms<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the second quarter, sales at Bogart Beauty Retail actually fell by -2.2% on a like-for-like basis to 74 million euros. This poor performance was due to &#8220;a scope effect (impact of April store closures in France and Belgium)&#8221;, to &#8220;effects linked to the integration of Fann&#8221; and to &#8220;a currency impact&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Bogart has scheduled the gradual closure of 9 stores in Belgium and 17 stores in France (including 4 by the end of the 1st half of 2023). On a like-for-like basis, however, Bogart Beauty Retail&#8217;s sales rose by 6.3% in the second quarter of 2023.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>A promising second half<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The second half of the year should be in line with the first six months.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Bogart anticipates &#8220;growth in both its businesses in the second half&#8221;, &#8220;despite the effects of changes in its scope of consolidation&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>First lever: the group is counting on its perfume and cosmetics launches to sustain momentum.
