With over 1,320 entries from 75 countries, the LVMH Innovation Award is a must in the world of innovation and technology. After a rigorous selection process, the world’s number one luxury<\/a> goods company invited the 18 finalists, divided into six categories, to present their avant-garde solutions on a stand at the Viva Tech<\/a> trade show.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n For this 7th edition, the big winner<\/strong> was none other than Save Your Wardobe<\/a>, a startup born in 2017 and founded by Hasna Kourda (CEO), accompanied by her husband Mehdi Doghri (CTO). Convinced of the need to add value to the clothes in every wardrobe<\/strong>, Hasna Kourda was inspired by her grandmother’s approach to upcycling.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In the wake of receiving her award, Hasna Kourda, co-founder and CEO of Save Your Wardrobe, still can’t get over it: “It’s really unexpected. It’s a source of personal pride, but above all it’s the reward for years of effort in promoting the values of circularity. She adds, “This award proves that extending the life of a garment meets a real need that brands want to benefit from.”<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n It was also an emotional experience for her husband and co-founder Mehdi Doghri: “I hadn’t felt this emotional for a long time. The last time was when our first child was born. He adds, “When I saw the company’s name and logo, it reminded me of the sleepless nights we had at the start of the project, and the number of closed doors we encountered before getting here.”<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Mehdi Doghri confirms, with figures to back it up, that repairing his clothes reduces his carbon footprint by 50% and increases the garment’s lifespan by 9 months.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Bravo @saveyrwardrobe<\/a>, winner of the #LVMHInnovationAward<\/a>\u2728 <\/p>\n Bernard Arnault, Chairman & CEO @LVMH<\/a>, is on stage to crown the startup on this achievement: \u2014 Viva Technology (@VivaTech) June 15, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n <\/p>\n In 2020, in the midst of the pandemic and faced with the urgent need to move the textile industry towards greater circularity, the Save Your Wardrobe app launches, based on “an ecosystem of easy-to-access after-sales services and a digital wardrobe”<\/em>, as the company’s website puts it. Thanks to these services, people can send their pieces to the entity that will set about repairing, cleaning, customizing or upcycling them. A way of giving clothes a second life by avoiding throwing them away.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Founded in 2017, Save Your Wardrobe is already established in the UK, Germany and France, but also in Tunisia (the co-founders’ country of origin) Finland and Denmark. The company raised \u20ac3 million<\/strong> in 2022.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The CEO says: “We really hope to improve the in-store experience, to make sure that all these “unsend heroes” are put forward and that people who buy understand the love put into the garment and the attention to detail. “<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Hasna Kourda concludes, “The key idea is to make people understand that design is not the end, but just the beginning of another adventure.”<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Her husband completes “Wanting to repair your clothes should no longer be perceived as a hippie gesture but as fitting well into the heart of the luxury experience.”<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Save Your Wardrobe, representing the Omnichannel & Retail<\/strong> category, thus wins the coveted first prize in the LVMH Innovation Award 2023.
