Free cash flow in the quarter was <strong>118 million pounds, up from 25 million pounds a year ago.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>German brand Porsche, meanwhile, said its profits and sales jumped more than <strong>25 percent<\/strong>. The company reported first-quarter 2023 sales of <strong>10.1 billion euros<\/strong> and operating profit of <strong>1.84 billion euros<\/strong>, beating the expectations of three analysts surveyed by Refinitiv.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Operating profit at its financial services arm fell to <strong>\u20ac86 million from \u20ac102 million previously.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Better profitability for Aston Martin<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Aston Martin, whose models are beloved by British spy James Bond, said in March that it expects <strong>improved profitability<\/strong> this year and <strong>positive free cash flow<\/strong> in the second half. The brand will begin delivering its next-generation sports cars in the third quarter.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Year-to-date, we continue to see strong demand across our product line, with our current sports car lineup nearly sold out for the year&#8221;<\/em>, executive chairman <strong>Lawrence Stroll<\/strong> said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Aston Martin said it expects <a href=\"https:\/\/luxus-plus.com\/en\/aston-martin-2022-in-the-red-2023-in-pink\/\">2023 to be the peak year for <strong>capital spending.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Porsche to raise prices<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Luxury automaker Porsche will raise prices by <strong>4 percent to 8 percent<\/strong> in Europe and the U.S. in the second half of the year <em>&#8220;to combat the rising costs that weighed on profits in the first quarter&#8221;<\/em>, Chief Financial Officer <strong>Lutz Meschke<\/strong> said on a conference call following first-quarter results.
