After already increasing its sales by 5% to 2 million vehicles and its net profit by 34% in 2022, the figures continue to climb in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>During the first quarter of 2023,<strong> global sales thus increased by 3%<\/strong> to 503 500 vehicles. Europe shows the strongest growth with +8%.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Electric vehicles were the main growth driver<\/strong>, with sales almost doubling to more than 51,000 cars.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The other very dynamic segment is the <strong>premium segment<\/strong>, which includes iconic models such as the AMG, Maybach and G-Class. It posted solid growth of 18% to 91,800 vehicles for the period.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sales of the Mercedes Benz Vans division, which includes the brand&#8217;s light commercial vehicles, increased by 12 percent in the quarter to 98,900 vehicles.
