Van Cleef & Arpels opens the doors of its boutique for its “Parenthèse humoristique”

On the occasion of the reopening of the museums on May, 19th, the French high jewellery house Van Cleef & Arpels took the opportunity to open three exhibitions in the capital.

The first, located in the Grand Galerie de l’Évolution of the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle, plunges the public into the world of precious stones with an exceptional selection of minerals, gems and objets d’art, while exhibiting the company’s jewellery creations. The second exhibition, at the École des arts joailliers, highlights the world of Jean Vendôme, a pioneer of modern jewellery and a great lover of minerals. Finally, the third pays tribute to the practice that has cultivated the House’s inspiration and shown its importance in their creations, both in times of crisis and in times of renewal: humour, married to the unusual.

Called “Parenthèse humoristique, quand le bijou a de l’esprit“, the jeweller opens the doors of its boutique located at 20, place Vendôme in Paris to unveil several of their jewels, both precious and unusual, in particular those made from 1950 onwards, in order to create a dialogue between the original archives of the house and rarely presented pieces, all of which are from the heritage collection.

From harlequins to acrobats, not forgetting the huge collection of jewellery in the shape of animals or everyday objects turned into jewellery (such as a lighter accompanied by a box of matches made of yellow gold), this exhibition will make you smile with the lightness and happiness that can be felt in the house’s creations.

Van Cleef & Arpels‘ creations will be admired until August, 31st for all those curious to see high jewellery in a different light.
