After several weeks of mobilization against Covid-19, the fashion industry is now renewing its commitment by organizing an online charity sale to raise funds for caregivers. The #ProtegeTonSoignant collective, supported by the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode and the Institut Français de la Mode, has already mobilized more than eighty renowned French labels.

Each of them has decided to revisit one of the pieces (garment or accessory) of its collection in electric blue, characteristic color of the #ProtegeTonSoignant collective. The objective is to sell it at an exceptional auction that will take place between May 1st and May 4th.

A mobilization for French healthcare professionals

At the front, in the front line of the battle of Covid-19, there are the caretakers.

It is from the desire to help them that the #ProtegeTonSoignant collective was born, a non-profit organization that distributes materials to French healthcare professionals during the coronavirus pandemic.

Their ambition is clear: to help hospital staff by transporting the medical equipment they need. But the needs are colossal: faced with certain shortages, #ProtegeTonSoignant is currently meeting massive demands for medical supplies.

Surgical masks, medical gloves, gowns, syringes, over-shoes, ultrasound scanners, thermometers but also raw ingredients for preparing meals and hygiene products for the comfort of the nursing staff, it is all this and much more that the collective is responsible for supplying to various hospitals in France.

In total, more than 20 million euros of medical equipment has been delivered to medical staff since the initiative began five weeks ago.

And to support this project, the biggest names in the French fashion industry and emerging brands have come together for an exclusive online auction sale.

A 100% solidarity fashion project

In order to raise as much money as possible, the fashion industry has therefore set up a major auction of unique pieces of collection.

To bring this project to life, each designer will be responsible for either customizing a garment or accessory from an old collection or designing a brand new piece with one imperative: a reference to the electric blue colour signature of #ProtectYourCare.

Designers who are confined to their homes without access to the necessary studio equipment will be able to submit model sketches or offer custom services through the auction.

All of the pieces will then be auctioned on the online platform lamodesengage.fr, with the profits going into this citizen’s jackpot, which will then be donated to French hospitals and healthcare staff.

So far, there are more than 80 participating brands including Dior, Celine, Comme des Garçons, Chanel, Berluti, Jil Sander, OAMC, Isabel Marant, Sacai, Schiaparelli, Nina Ricci, Koché, Casablanca, and Coperni.

For this auction, which will take place from May 1 at noon until May 4 at 11:59 pm, the starting price for all items is 100 euros. The pieces will be sent to the buyers at the exit of the confinement. #ProtegeTonSoignant will take care of the logistics of the recovery of the coins and the deliveries.
