The International Contemporary Art Fair is coming back to Paris, October 18 – 21

The 45th edition of FIAC will take place from October 18 to 21, 2018 in the spaces of the Grand Palais in Paris. This year, the fair will host 193 galleries, three of which come from new countries: Greece, Peru and Ireland.

From 18 to 21 October 2018, will be held in Paris, the International Contemporary Art Fair (FIAC), one of the key rendezvous for contemporary art lovers. There will be around 3000 artists, as well as 193 exhibitors from around the world.

Every year, the fair presents a prestigious selection of galleries of modern art, contemporary art and design.

The FIAC will show the best of early twentieth-century artistic creation but also the most emerging trends of today with a series of performances, conferences and film screenings.

A resolutely international selection

There will be the return of 15 internationally renowned galleries including the famous Hauser & Wirth Gallery. Located in Zurich, Somerset, New York, Los Angeles and Hong Kong, the gallery is known for supporting visionary arts projects around the world.

In addition, 17 galleries, mainly Chinese, Americans and Scandinavians, will also be present in the FIAC for the first time. This is the case, for example, of Space Magician. Based in Beijing, Space Magician Gallery seeks to challenge, stimulate and address blind areas ignored by the development of contemporary art in China.

Another new exhibitor is the gallery 80M2 Livia Benavides. From Lima, 80M2 Livia Benavides is an art gallery specialized in Peruvian contemporary art with the representation of conceptual artists through political and social reflection.

The “design” sector will be reduced to five very Parisian names.

From the forecourt to the Concorde

Please also note that the FIAC will deploy outside the Grand Palais. This will begin with the forecourt. This year again, Winston Churchill Avenue will be closed to traffic, which will allow to install about forty rooms for FIAC Projects between the Grand and Petit Palais. Further, there will be things “outside the walls“, including the Tuileries Garden, where the FIAC will also present twenty works in collaboration with the Louvre.

Rebecca Warren will also be in the Museum Delacroix. And the duo Elmgreen and Dragset will invest the place Vendôme. There will also be an “architectural course” with historical and contemporary choices at the Place de la Concorde. It will be “an ephemeral village in the heart of Paris“. You are going to be amazed in the next days…
