On the occasion of the Édition Spéciale by Luxe Pack exhibition, the French company G.Pivaudran will present its first tests on generic parts, made of recycled aluminium.

After the great success of the first edition, the exhibition is repeating the operation with the following theme: “Packaging innovations for ecology”. The aim is to present solutions in favour of the environment, while maintaining the excellence of know-how. The Special Edition by Luxe Pack is the only trade show bringing together suppliers of eco-designed packaging from all sectors.

“In 2021, the question of taking action no longer arises: the integration of the environmental issue is the most predominant key success factor for packaging innovations,” says the show.

G.Pivaudran has been an expert in the design and manufacture of aluminium parts for packaging in the Beauty and Spirits sectors for over 70 years. The group has already worked with more than 35 prestigious companies, such as Chanel, Dior, Hermès, Cartier, Fragonard, Rémy Martin and many others.

Since 2019, G.Pivaudran has been interested in the use of recycled aluminium for the packaging of luxury items. The company is carrying out its first trials in partnership with its aluminium suppliers and strictly confidential projects for their customers, following their guideline of excellence and innovation.

“For several months now, our clients have been asking us about concrete projects. A milestone has been reached with the brands. We are working to be able to guarantee them reliable, high-quality and sustainable production,” says Marc Pivaudran, the group’s president.

The aim of this research is to be able to use this new recycled material in the packaging of luxury products, where awareness of responsible luxury is at a premium.

“We are conducting trials with a new grade of aluminium in order to obtain levels of gloss and elasticity close to those offered by non-recycled aluminium. The other key issue is sourcing. We need to find a recycling channel capable of ensuring stable supplies in terms of quantity but also, and of course, in terms of quality,” stresses Hervé Delaigue, Sales and Development Director at G.Pivaudran.

The Édition Spéciale by Luxe Pack 2021 exhibition will be held on 31 August and 1 September at the Carreau du Temple in Paris. For more information on the event, click here.
