There is something new at Porsche, which now allows 911 and 718 buyers to follow the production of their model on the “My Porsche” online platform. These are not new models, although the brand has just unveiled its new 911 Targa, but a new service that further enhances the customer experience of the German manufacturer.

Porsche will add the “Behind the Scenes” feature to the “My Porsche” online platform. the portal dedicated to the brand’s customers. Thanks to it, buyers of a 911 or a 718 will be able to follow, in photos, the manufacture of their model step by step, behind the scenes of production.

To make this possible, Porsche announces that it has “already installed cameras at two stations and linked them to the production system.” “Two more cameras will soon be added.” says the Stuttgart automaker.

Customized customer experience

Porsche believes in the importance of offering its customers a personalized experience from the very beginning – this now includes the period of time when they are waiting impatiently for their car,” adds Robert Ader, Vice President of Customer Relations at Porsche. “Our customers can now experience first-hand the production of their dream car, as they have configured it, which will further enhance this phase of the customer experience, known as the anticipatory experience. We will initially launch this offer in six markets and will gradually roll out this service.

Not yet available in France

Initially, “Behind the Scenes” will be available in the United States, Germany, Great Britain, Canada, Switzerland and Spain. Other countries, and possibly France, will follow in the coming months.

In addition, American customers will have the chance to use the “Porsche Track Your Dream” function, which will enable them to follow the precise journey of their car from the factory in Zuffenhausen, Germany, to their Porsche Centre.
