The CANAL+ Group, in collaboration with the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode (FHCM), will offer from July 6 ParisFashion, an ephemeral thematic channel during Paris Fashion Week. An opportunity to continue celebrating Paris and its fashion despite the current circumstances.

Not to miss anything of the great fashion event, which will be digital this year

Because this year, for the first time, Paris Fashion Week 2020 will not take place physically but online, because of the health crisis, CANAL+ and the Haute Couture and Fashion Federation wanted to innovate and propose alternative digital solutions.

Given the circumstances, Haute Couture Week and Paris Fashion Week® will not be able to take place. This is why CANAL+ and the Federation of Haute Couture and Fashion are launching together PARIS FASHION, the channel of Paris Fashion Week in Paris.” said the audiovisual group.

The objective: to cover the mythical Paris Fashion Week and celebrate this international and unmissable fashion event, despite the very special circumstances that do not necessarily lend themselves to it.

Gather complementary content and reach out to a wide audience

With this new ephemeral channel, CANAL+ will be at the heart of the show and will broadcast a number of varied and original contents: “You will be able to find videos from fashion week and Haute Couture week, as well as exclusive content” said Delphine Dewost, Director of Development at Canal+.

For the first time, the participating houses will express themselves through fashion films and unveil their autumn-winter 2020/2021, Haute Couture and ready-to-wear collections.

But in addition to the traditional fashion shows, the channel will offer exclusive content to enrich and amplify the brands’ communication, such as interviews conducted by Camille Charrière – editor and fashion consultant – who will meet the big names in fashion to question them about the history of the houses, the art trades, and their previous collections.

ParisFashion will even broadcast round tables discussions or videos that will reveal the viewpoint of the great couturiers on the event, by filming themselves with their smartphone, in programs called “Mosaïques“.

CANAL+ and the leading body of French fashion thus wish to reach a large audience while offering maximum visibility to the fashion industry’ actors. ParisFashion will be accessible to all without subscription from July 6 via myCANAL (or on TV via the Evénement channel for its subscribers, number 19 on the Canal+ numbering system).

A creative events channel that will therefore enable TV viewers to keep a close eye on fashion news, and will thus meet a strong demand for entertainment and escape from society.

And which will then contribute to giving Parisian fashion back its credibility after the upheavals it has experienced and the forced digitalization of Fashion Week due to health restrictions.
