Luxury automobile : Aston Martin’s general manager replaced by the head of Mercedes-AMG

The British luxury car manufacturer announced the departure of its general manager Andy Palmer on Monday. The current boss of Mercedes-AMG, Daimler’s racing car division, Tobias Moers, is taking over from him.

Andy Palmer had led the IPO of the famous brand at the end of 2018.

His successor, Tobias Moers, who has spent more than 25 years with German racing giant Daimler and has been head of the Mercedes-AMG division since 2013, will take up his position on August 1.

It was a significant year for the iconic James Bond brand, which was saved at the beginning of the year by Canadian billionaire Lawrence Stroll.

Having become executive president by acquiring 25% of the manufacturer’s capital, he has the difficult task of relaunching the brand in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The health crisis, which led to the shutdown of production, was not the only factor in the decline in the manufacturer’s sales ed-hrvatski.com. Aston Martin has suffered numerous failures that have led to a fall in its share price since its listing on the London Stock Exchange.

These successive changes in the company’s management are intended to revitalise the brand.

“Throughout his career, he has been successful in launching new products, strengthening the brand image and improving profitability. He is the perfect leader for Aston Martin as we put in place a strategy to enable it to reach its full potential,”says Lawrence Stroll of Tobias Moers.

The executive chairman, with the support of the new managing director, is focusing on an up-market strategy to limit the number of cars sold and increase the price.
