Les Domaines de Fontenille announce the opening of their first 5* hotel on the doorstep of Paris

The hotel group Les Domaines de Fontenille is unveiling its new hotel complex, a 5-star domain in Primard, located only 70km from Paris, which is scheduled to open in the spring of 2021.
The high-end hotel group Les Domaines de Fontenille, founded in 2013 by Frédéric Biousse and Guillaume Foucher, is moving to the Eure and plans to open a 5-star hotel in a 40-hectare country estate. After the success of their first hotel complex in 2015, located in Lauris in the Luberon, the two founders opened a seaside hotel complex in Marseille in 2018, which has been a great success.
Frédéric Biousse, the founder of Experienced Capital, the luxury business management company, and Guillaume Foucher, owner of a contemporary art gallery, do not intend to stop there. After unveiling a third complex in the Landes region in 2019, the two partners announced the opening of their first 5-star hotel, located less than an hour from Paris.
Located 70 km west of Paris, between Anet and Giverny, this hotel complex extends over 40 hectares of a country estate and represents the group’s most ambitious project. In addition to a 5-star hotel, the complex will also include a gourmet restaurant, a bistro signed by Chef Eric Frechon, a 450 m² spa, seminar and reception rooms. The complex also includes a farm and a vegetable garden, as well as a waterfront guinguette.
This new destination, half luxury, half theme, promises a unique environment and atmosphere around this 18th-century property, a total change of scenery only a few kilometers from Paris. Comprising 30 rooms and 9 suites with private terraces, this magnificent chateau, which previously belonged to Catherine Deneuve until 2014, ensures a warm atmosphere “where you feel at home above all“.
Frédéric Biousse already evoked the ambitions of the hotel group in 2018: «We think of each hotel as if we were creating our own house, including personal touches ranging from works of art from our own collection to the books offered in the room. But beyond the tourist project, it is also a desire to give meaning and to safeguard the regional and architectural heritage through unique addresses that symbolize the regions where the collection is established. It is also about reviving local life through job creation and economic investment deeply rooted in the preservation of the region» says Frédéric Biousse.
The estate offers a perfect communion with nature, with gardens designed by one of the most famous landscape designers of the 20th century, Jacques Wirtz, which have grown over time and now include several century-old trees surrounded by canals, an impressive arboretum, and a rose garden with more than 250 different varieties. For a complete immersion in the rural atmosphere, the estate also includes a farm with several animals in semi-liberty and a vegetable garden in permaculture.
The chef Eric Frechon ensures exceptional meals from the gastronomic restaurant of the Primard estate, with seasonal products from the complex’s vegetable garden on the menu. In winter, guests are welcomed in a large glass room with a breathtaking view of the Wirtz gardens, and in the first rays of spring, the terrace is set up in the center of the rose garden.
The Bistrot de Primard is located in the courtyard of the estate’s farm, and is open every noon and evening of the year, extending to a bucolic terrace that continues to the orchard. The bar is located on the water’s edge and leans against the bank to enjoy an impressive view while sipping one of the many cocktails on the menu.
Finally, because it is not a real vacation unless you can recharge your batteries and relax, the complex offers a spa with hammam, sauna, jacuzzis, and even a gym to stay in shape. The ambitious destination of Domaines de Fontenille will therefore open its doors in 2021, and the hotel group is soon planning its first establishment in Italy.
