The 4th edition Les Journées Particulières by LVMH, an event created in 2011 under the impulsion of Antoine Arnault, will be held on October 12, 13 and 14, 2018.
This year, the event takes on a new dimension: with 56 of its Maisons open to the public, the Group will propose to discover 76 exceptional places – including 38 unpublished – located on four continents. The programming imagined around the 5 senses will highlight the craftsmanship and creativity of the craftsmen and the architectural and cultural heritage of the Maisons du Groupe.
The principle of Les Journées Particulières remains intangible: to give the possibility to a wide and diversified public to discover, from the inside, what makes the identity of the Houses of the LVMH group. Each place offers a unique and original tour itinerary, designed by the host house. For this fourth edition, the focus will be on experiences, interaction and surprises, as well as meetings between the public and the Group’s artisans and creatives.
“Designed to embody the generosity and energy of our Houses, the Journées Particulières echo the spirit of transmission that drives the LVMH group: to discover, from within, the diversity of our heritage, the wealth of our knowledge to make and the strength of our innovations. This unparalleled event has each time engaged a growing number of Houses, talents and visitors to become, on the occasion of this 4th edition, a truly global celebration of crafts, “said Antoine Arnault, Director General of Berluti, President of Loro Piana, Founder of the Special Days.
This year, Les Journées Particulières open on four continents with 23 participating Houses for the first time, such as Cloudy Bay in New Zealand, Cape Mentelle in Australia, Terrazas de Los Andes in Argentina, Royal Van Lent / Feadship in the Netherlands , Benefit Cosmetics in San Francisco, Newton in the Nappa Valley, Sephora in the United States and Europe, Cova in Milan, The Red Tanneries in Romans-sur-Isère, or RIMOWA in Cologne and the T Fondaco dei Tedeschi by DFS in Venice. The opening of these new places testifies to the growing international scope of Les Journées Particulières and the LVMH group.
“Every day at LVMH, the talents of our Homes make the difference by embodying the values of excellence, entrepreneurial spirit, creativity and innovation that have led to the Group’s success. Les Journées Particulières are a unique event. They allow the meeting of these talents with the public, and highlight the love of their professions and the creative passion that drives them, “said Bernard Arnault, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Group.
As part of the event, Louis Vuitton will opens two sites to visit: the prototype workshop Louis Vuitton trunks, rue du Louvre in Paris, and the Asnieres workshop where Louis Vuitton himself has long lived in 1859.
Francis Kurkdjian, meanwhile, will give several exceptional master classes, “around the art of creating a perfume”. They will be followed by an informal exchange in his newly renovated office, located on the 2nd floor of 41, rue Etienne Marcel.
For their part, the jewelery houses Fred and Chaumet as well as the specialist of luxury leather goods, Moynat and haute couture houses such as Givenchy, Christian Dior and Berlutti will visit some of their workshops usually closed to the general public.
This year, Julien Cernobori, journalist and podcaster, will be realeasing a series of podcasts discussing the history and the secrets of the artisans of the group including Bulgari, Château d’Yquem, House Francis Kurkdjian, Sephora or Dior.
