Joana Vasconcelos exhibition at Le Bon Marché

Joana Vasconcelos is exhibiting at Le Bon Marché until February 17, 2019, the opportunity to admire this sprawling work invading the entire space in this mythical place.

Agenda
picture: Joana Vasconcelos – 24 sèvres

After Ai Weiwei in 2016, Chiharu Shiota in 2017 and Leandro Erlich in 2018, it is now the turn of the Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos to invest Le Bon Marché with her exhibition event “Branco Luz”.

Joana Vasconcelos has established herself in the world of contemporary art with works of impressive dimensions, with baroque forms full of humour, revealing a fertile imagination, a taste for tradition as much as provocation and transgression.

For Le Bon Marché she imagined “Simone“, a strange and invasive creature suspended under the central glass roofs and extending over and under the escalators. This creature is none other than a Valkyrie, a mythological figure that is particularly striking and recurrent in his work.

Investing the windows and interior spaces of Le Bon Marché, Joana Vasconcelos’ work projects us into a universe that is both magical and cosmic.
