Givaudan launches an upcycled arabica coffee oil in partnership with Kaffe Bueno

The Swiss brand Givaudan launches Koffee’Up, the new sustainable beauty oil made from upcycled Arabica coffee as part of its partnership with the start-up Kaffe Bueno.

Danish start-up Kaffe Bueno, winner of the 2019 edition of MassChallenge Switzerland, the start-up incubator of which Givaudan is a founding partner, is dedicated to upcycling of coffee grounds into functional ingredients for cosmetics and other applications.

 

This involves the recovery of products that are no longer used in order to transform them into materials of superior quality or utility.

“The innovation that surrounds upcycling in the cosmetics industry today is a crucial element for the evolution of a sustainable business. We are delighted to partner with a young start-up company from MassChallenge Switzerland committed to the same sustainable practices as we are,” concluded Maurizio Volpi, President of Givaudan’s Fragrance Division.

 

This high-end, sustainable oil with natural properties such as hydration, protection and anti-ageing effect fits perfectly with consumer aspirations.

 

As a result, Koffee’Up is approved and certified COSMOS, the organic cosmetics standard by Ecocert.

 

Givaudan will present this exceptional new ingredient at online presentations on 8 July at 5 pm, 9 July at 1.30 pm and 10 July at 9 am. Online registration.
