Swiss luxury watchmaker Hublot has just unveiled new high-tech material, Saxem (Sapphire Aluminium oXyde and rare Earth Mineral) with the aim of countering its best-selling Big Bang’s case. A first experience in the world of watchmaking.

After having long been involved in the industrialization of sapphire in a wide range of shapes and colours (transparent, black, yellow, blue and red), Hublot turned to Saxem.

Saxem makes it possible to obtain a transparent emerald green while combining brilliance and resistance. To highlight this new material used for the first time in watchmaking, Hublot has revisited the design of its best-seller, the Big Bang, through the MP-11 model.

For this exceptional timepiece, Hublot has acquired, in addition to an advanced material, particularly used in satellites, a hand-wound manufacturing calibre with a 14-day power reserve, all ensured by seven barrels visible on the dial side. The Big-Bang MP-11 in Saxem is manually wound via the large fluted crown and is equipped with a black rubber strap.

This new model will be published in a limited edition of 20 copies, available at a price of 125,000 euros.
