Newcomers
The first newcomer at Fashion Week is the Rochas brand, famous for its fragrances. It wants to develop more eco-responsible products for men. Founded in 1925, it belongs to the French company Interparfums.
The men’s label Botter, which won the grand prize of the Première Vision jury at the 33rd Hyères International Fashion Festival, is also appearing for the first time at Fashion Week. Botter seduced the jurors with its products created from recycled materials and also with its political and environmental claims.
The Rhude brand, founded by Rhuigi Villaseñor in 2015, is a design company born in Los Angeles, combining luxury techniques and streetwear elements. Its assets are its simplicity and strong sense of innovation.
Finally, the designer Craig Green is also taking part in this event as a newcomer. He is the winner of the British Fashion Awards 2014 in the men’s ready-to-wear category, the BFC/GQ Designer Menswear Fund 2016 and the British Menswear Designer of the Fashion Awards 2016 and 2017. The latter recently collaborated with Moncler on a capsule with bold pieces, made of a series of lightweight modules that can be folded, flattened and stored. Once again, Craig Green is showing off his talents in terms of innovation.
Pillars of Fashion Week
As every year, the Fashion Week calendar features some of the biggest names in fashion. Among these major brands are Off-White, Valentino, Lanvin, Louis Vuitton and Balmain, to name but a few.
Dior Homme, an iconic men’s fashion brand, will also be present at this edition. Always in tune with itself, Dior will offer a minimalist and modern collection that will appeal to all lovers of new trends.
For its part, Givenchy has called upon the famous British designer Clare Waight Keller who is eagerly awaited as this is her first men’s show on the Parisian catwalks.
Another major player at this event will be Hermès, which will present during his fashion show its new collection in keeping with its core values of innovation and respect for the environment.
Also noteworthy among the trends identified on the London and Milan catwalks was the great return of face prints. A somewhat unexpected concept but really present in 2020 as many designers have presented shirts, tunics and sweaters with this type of prints.
