Whereas Switzerland has recorded more than 13,000 cases of coronavirus and 235 deaths linked to the pandemic, the five-star hotel le Bijou is offering a “special containment” offer. With Switzerland has recorded more than 13,000 cases of coronavirus and 235 deaths linked to the pandemic, the five-star hotel le Bijou is offering a “special containment” offer. Luxurious suites, gourmet meals, medical consultations and virus testing, everything has been thought of to offer the most fortunate guests a top-of-the-range, tailor-made containment.

While the Swiss hotel industry is suffering from the closure of most of its establishments, Alexander Hübner, founder and managing director of the Swiss hotel chain Bijou Hotel & Resort Management AG, has decided to adapt his offer to the current crisis situation and offers his guests “luxury” containment under very exceptional conditions. “We are recording serious losses in terms of ‘normal’ customers. At the same time, we have seen an increase in requests for fourteen-day stays. That is why we have made an offer with this in mind“, says the head of the company.

Thus, in addition to the normal cost of the room (between 200 and 800 euros per night), a client can afford two daily medical consultations for an additional 750 euros. By paying an additional 470 euros, it is also possible to take a coronavirus screening test in the suite. Delivery of chef’s meals is also available as a room service option.
In order to offer such services to his privileged guests, CEO Alexander Hübner has thought on a grand scale and has partnered with a private Swiss health service. He has also decided to dispense with all personnel, including during check-in and check-out, so that clients remain completely isolated for the duration of their quarantine, without any physical contact. “They don’t need to shake hands with anyone“, he explained.

Since its launch last week, Hotel Le Bijou has booked five reservations for this new “special Covid-19” service. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, Le Bijou offers several quarantine studios and apartments in the cities of Zurich, Zug and Lucerne.

A clever way for the hotel group to continue to generate income during the crisis. And, for the wealthier guests, to confine themselves in unique luxury conditions.
