Containment: Alexander Mcqueen launches new creative project

While the world of fashion and luxury is multiplying initiatives, the British fashion house Alexander McQueen has launched a collaborative project via its social networks to encourage creativity despite the period of confinement.

After Olivier Rousteing and Balmain, it is now the turn of the famous British fashion house Alexander McQueen to invite its community to develop its artistic creativity in a new context of confinement and social distance.

Each week, the millions of subscribers of the fashion brand are invited to reinterpret, from the comfort of their own homes, the flagship creations of the fashion house. And for its first edition, Alexander McQueen has invited them to create a design around one of the most striking creations of its recent seasons: the theatrical and voluminous “Red Rose” dress by Sarah Burton, stylist and artistic director of Alexander McQueen Studios.

Every week we will be asking you to be part of our creative community, working together from home on a series of projects, sometimes with the inspiration of the McQueen team and collaborators in the form of digital tutorials. This week we invite you to sketch the Autumn/Winter 2019 Rose dress with us” explained the house on Wednesday, April 1st on social networks.

The public must therefore choose their favorite look and redesign, color or reinterpret it and then share it (until Monday, April 6, 2020) on social networks, taking care to tag @AlexanderMcQueen and include the hashtag #McQueenCreators. The best creation will have the chance to be highlighted by the famous British fashion house.

According to a statement from the brand, future projects for the community will even include “3D design and home embroidery“, among other initiatives that will be announced through social channels cz-lekarna.com.

An artistic challenge for both the curious and the fashion expert, aimed at providing new creative experiences at a time when inventiveness and productivity are being restricted by the coronavirus pandemic.

A participative project that also shows the brand’s willingness to get closer to its virtual community in order to maintain close contact with it despite the crisis.
