Mercedes-Benz has decided to compete with the world’s leading electric vehicle manufacturer, Tesla, with its version of the electric saloon, the EQS model. How does it compare with the Tesla Model S ? Focus on the Mercedes-Benz EQS electric model.
Mercedes-Benz has presented its EQS sedan as the ultimate electric car. It offers up to 785 km of range compared to the Tesla Model S‘s 637 km, an unrivalled range. However, the performance and charging network are slightly below Tesla.

On the aesthetic side
Its futuristic silhouette may not appeal to everyone, but its advantages are indisputable, “a powerful and flowing coupe line characterises the silhouette”. With its specific 19-inch wheels and the Sport mode activated, the EQS achieves an impressive drag coefficient of 0.20. This makes it the most slippery car to date.
The Hyperscreen : This dashboard looks like a giant screen, but it is actually three separate screens integrated into a single pane. The 12.3-inch screen for the driver offers various options. In front of the passenger is another screen of the same size that gives access to the entire infotainment system. If the seat is empty, it will display a screensaver, and if the dashboard’s eye camera catches the driver glancing around, it will dim the display to avoid distraction.
Its comfort
As an S-Class model, comfort has been carefully thought out to provide the best possible experience. It is designed to be relaxing with many exclusive, wellness-oriented features. “Ergonomic details allow for a perfectly adapted seating position. Innovative side cushions provide intensive lateral support. The wellness massage effects make every journey a pleasure”, says the brand.
Indoor air quality is also an important issue, and Mercedes-Benz understands this. “The new HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) fine dust filter can remove even the smallest particles such as pollen and fine dust from the incoming air with a filter performance of up to 99.65% and neutralise unpleasant odours. The result is a new climate of well-being thanks to ENERGIZING AIR CONTROL Plus,” the brand emphasises.
In terms of aesthetics, comfort and technology, this makes the Mercedes-Benz EQS 2022 a genuine electric luxury sedan that is a real novelty and can compete with the models of the famous Elon Musk.
