Bentley Announces Appointment of Andreas Mindt as Chief Design Officer

Andreas Mindt has been appointed Managing Director of Design at Bentley Motors and will succeed Stefan Sielaff as of March 1, 2021.

After six years as Managing Director of Design, Stefan Sielaff is leaving his position at Bentley to join the Geely automotive group. He will hand over his position to Andreas Mindt, formerly of Audi, starting March 1, 2021.

I am pleased to welcome Andreas to Bentley and look forward to working closely with him at such a critical but exciting time for the company. The hard work begins now as we accelerate our journey toward full electrification by 2030,” said Dr. Matthias Rabe, member of the Bentley Motors Board of Directors.

With more than 25 years of experience in automotive design, Andreas Mindt has held the position of Head of Interior Design for Audi for the past six years. He has worked on all of the brand’s models and has also overseen the design of the premium SUVs, Audi Q8 and Audi e-tron.

His many years of service with the Volkswagen Group have given Mindt solid experience in automotive design. He worked for more than 15 years as a key member of Volkswagen‘s design department at the company’s headquarters in Wolfsburg. He also had his first experience at Bentley when he designed the exterior of the famous Bentley Hunaudières 1999 show car.

Andreas Mindt will head the Bentley design department, consisting of about 50 interior and exterior design experts, from the brand’s headquarters in Crewe, UK.

Bentley is a jewel within the Volkswagen Group. Designing a car and a future is always a process based on the performance of many, not just one, so I look forward to working with my colleagues to help define the next phase of Bentley’s electrified future,” he said.
