The Comité Colbert, which has been promoting French luxury internationally for nearly 70 years, has appointed Bénédicte Epinay, a journalist specializing in the luxury industry, as CEO.

In 1996, she followed the news of the luxury industry for the daily newspaper “Les Echos“, a first for the newspaper. In 2016, she created a division dedicated to the luxury universe for Pelham Media, a company specialising in the creation of digital content for companies, before taking over as its general manager.

It goes without saying that Bénédicte Epinay, a graduate in journalism and communication, is a fine connoisseur of the luxury sector. This is the reason why the Comité Colbert, an association that has been promoting the French luxury industry abroad since 1954, appointed her General Delegate on March 26th.

Her knowledge of our sector and her skills will enable her to face the many challenges that will arise for our companies and our association. More than ever, in the circumstances we are all going through, we will need the collective strength that the Comité Colbert brings“, said Guillaume de Seynes, its president.

At the head of the Comité Colbert, Bénédicte Epinay will therefore be in charge of promoting the French luxury houses that are members of the Comité Colbert internationally, with the aim of raising the profile of French luxury in the world.

The mission is clear: to build the editorial and digital strategies of these luxury companies and to promote their cultural and creative dimension. Bénédicte Epinay will thus contribute to the development of the French art of living, and to the promotion of French creativity, know-how and heritage so that French luxury continues to establish itself as a symbol of France abroad.

In total, Bénédicte Epinay will be in charge of promoting 82 luxury houses, as well as cultural institutions and the most prestigious French art venues. “National treasures” in fields as varied as fashion, crystal, publishing, decoration, hotels, gastronomy, precious materials, perfume, automobiles, and many others.

Thus the Bussière publishing group, the Caron Haute Parfumerie house, the Krug champagne house, the Boucheron jeweller, the Chanel fashion house and the Le Bristol and Plaza Athénée palaces will now be represented in the person of Bénédicte Epinay, who succeeds Élisabeth Ponsolle des Portes, who held the position of General Delegate of the Comité Colbert for 17 years.

A new breath of fresh air and a major mission for the new CEO who, between round tables, exhibitions and reflections, will help to enhance the value of top-of-the-range products and relaunch French luxury, more than ever troubled in the current context of the Covid-19 global pandemic.
