Agenda Stock market and Economy : the highlights of the week from February 6 to 10

With many important events, the week ahead looks busy. Global macroeconomic announcements, or company results, in Europe, Asia, or the United States, these are the events not to be missed during the week of February 6 to 10.

 

Global economic, political and stock market announcements

 

The economic agenda is very full for the week of February 6 to 10. Starting with France, which will release its December foreign trade results at 8:45 am on Monday, February 6. The Eurozone will release the Sentix investor confidence index for February at 10:30 am, as well as the December retail sales at 11 am.

 

On Tuesday, February 7, Japan will release its December household spending at 12:30 a.m., and Germany its December industrial production at 8 a.m. On the same day, France will post its December balance of payments at 8:45 a.m. The U.S. will report its December trade deficit at 2:30 p.m. and its December consumer credit at 9 p.m. Fed Chairman Jerome Powell will speak at the Economic Club of Washington at 6 p.m.

 

Wednesday’s February 8 schedule includes the release of Japan’s December trade balance at 12:50 a.m. and France’s flash estimate of annual payroll employment at 8:45 a.m. The U.S. also has a busy schedule as it will release its December wholesale trade statistics at 4:00 p.m., and its weekly oil inventories from the Energy Department at 4:30 p.m. Joe Biden will take the stage on the night of February 8-9 at 3:00 am CST to give a state of the Union address to Congress.

 

Japan, which has been very active this week, will release its January monetary aggregates at 12:50 a.m. on Thursday, February 9. At 8:00 a.m., Germany will release its first estimate of the January consumer price index, while France will release its preliminary results for payroll employment and working hours for 2022 at 8:45 a.m. At 2:30 p.m., the U.S. will report new weekly unemployment data for the week ending Saturday, February 4.

 

To wrap up the week, China will report January inflation on Friday, February 10, as well as January industrial producer prices at 2:30 a.m. on the night of February 9-10. At 8:00 am, the UK will release its December industrial production, December balance of payments, and 2022 GDP guidance. Later in the day, Germany is also expected to release its December current account balance, and India will reveal its December industrial production at 1pm. Finally, the U.S. will give the February University of Michigan confidence index at 4:00 p.m., and the January budget situation at 8:00 p.m.

 

Company publications in France and abroad

 

Beginning Tuesday, February 7 (after trading), BNP Paribas will release its annual revenue and earnings and its third quarter 2022-2023 revenue (after trading). Similarly, GlaxoSmithKline and Nintendo will release their third quarter results, while BP, DuPont de Nemours, Linde, Trivago and Western Union are expected to release their fourth quarter results on the same day. Exel Industries will hold its AGM on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at 8 rue d’Athènes (75009 Paris), and Gaussin will hold an EGM at 11 a.m. at 11 rue du 47e-Régiment-d’Artillerie (70400 Héricourt).

 

Wednesday, February 8, will be marked by the publication of the annual results of ALD Automotive, Amundi, Lectra, Société Générale and TotalEnergies. Assystem will present its annual revenues, AST Groupe its annual revenues (after the stock market), and Claranova its revenues for the first half of 2022-2023. On the international front, ABN Amro Bank, AkzoNobel, Deutsche Boerse and Uber Technologies will announce their fourth quarter results. On the same day, Toyota will release its third quarter results and Walt Disney will release its first quarter results.

 

Several companies will reveal their annual results on Thursday 9 February : ArcelorMittal, Crédit Agricole, Euronext, Ipsen, Legrand, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield and Vinci. L’Oréal and Spineway will release their annual results (after the stock market), and Delta Plus Group and Guerbet will publish their annual sales. Internationally, AstraZeneca, Credit Suisse, ITT, Nissan, PepsiCo, Philip Morris, Siemens, and Unilever will all release their fourth quarter results on the same day. Finally, the week will close with Aperam’s fourth quarter results on Friday, January 10, as well as Aramis Group’s AGM (combined general meeting) at 2:30 pm at 23, avenue Aristide-Briand (94110 Arcueil).
