Neuchâtel watchmaking subcontractors, who organized a parallel exhibition of Baselworld, will be doing so again in 2019. Nearly forty exhibitors, a significantly increasing number, will be present from March 19 to 23 in La Chaux-de-Fonds.
Access to the exhibition is free of charge, but it is necessary to register. The event will open two days before the Baselworld World Watch and Jewellery Show in Basel. Like the 2018 edition, this 2nd edition, brings together former BaselWorld exhibitors and is intended for Swiss and international clients.
“The Technical Watchmaker show takes root in the watchmaking world during a favourable business period. It aims to bring together the key players in the sector at both exhibitor and visitor level,” the organizers say.
In 2018, several watch suppliers had decided to abandon Baselworld and create a parallel show. Taken aback, the companies were unable to rent a space but decided to open their doors to watchmaking professionals visiting Switzerland.
The organizers of the Technical Watchmaker show recall that Baselworld has chosen to focus its show on prestigious timepieces and extraordinary jewellery. However, “several visitors are also interested in professions related to watches and jewellery and that is why the exhibition is organized during this period“.
“Our aim here, as organisers, is to offer a dynamic and welcoming platform for professionals to meet each other, do business, create contacts and showcase your skills and know-how on a site that is conducive to the development of the sector in a sustainable structure,” says Eric Zuccatti, CEO at Horotech.
